At the beginning of November 2022 we closed our second cycle of the Florecemos: Nonprofit Leadership Circle with a retreat in Wimberley, TX. While walking along Cypress Creek and nestled under the beautiful oak trees surrounding our lodge, we came together to support each other, close our circle, and set our intentions moving forward.
We were led in a rebozo movement practice by Irasema Reza Bailey of Las Manos Magicas and Birth Comadres Doula Collective to learn and practice the use of the rebozo as a tool for healing and self-care. We closed our two-night retreat by reflecting back to each other our unique individual gifts as leaders, and left with a living document to hold our intentions, vision, values, tools, practices, and more.
Our hope is that this will help guide and support everyone’s expansive and life-affirming leadership in nonprofit spaces moving forward. Plus, we know that we can always call on each other when we need to be reminded of our gifts and the expansive community we are creating.
